I can’t put my finger on it, but I absolutely love this site. I’ve been staring at it for ten minutes.
I love the page navigation at the bottom of the Made in England blog. It’s hard to understand the reasoning behind all of those [1] [2] [3] … [56] [57] navigational little menus found on so many sites. This little nifty scroller makes it effortless to go straight to a specific page.
Amusing, and, perhaps a little bit disturbing. Here’s thirty ways to shock yourself.
How about these smashing pillows in the theme of Adobe’s Creative Suite applications? Nerdy? You bet!
Love the details in this Decorative alphabet by flickr user onetwentyeight.
Today we had a little brainstorm in my group, and, well, this is what we came up with.

Short and sweet; Shortwave is a javascript bookmarklet that quickly lets you find things on the web. Try it out for yourself!
Some interesting figures from A List Apart’s annual survey.
The user fabianohikaru has a really beautiful typographic artwork over at Deviantart.
I forgot to mention, but this here amazing portfolio got a Garden of the day ribbon. It was also chosen as Best of March 2009 at Css perk!
Designerblog.it also wrote a piece on me which you can see here (in italian). I had my “sister in law” translate it for me:
Emerging web designer Julius Mattson [sic] gets his own portfolio. Young Julius Mattson is a swedish web and graphic designer who launched his brand-new version of portfolio to introduce himself and to run for an employment in some influential professional studio. As you can see he does not lack graphic skills; his entire web site overlooks a far-west style, from the “wanted” joke to every single section: the never-missing blog, his works and contact page. It is not the first time that I observe such a form, which I find original.
The boy slips up sometimes and a few things look unappropiate to the style, like the “ripped” vectorial header. However, everything else is well designed, as the nice menu roller and the way contents are dealt with and recalled, also in homepage, are good.
Even if poor of notable clients and enriched with many still experimental works, we can have good expectations on Mattson [sic] and surely we’ll keep an eye on him.
In Design specialization 2, we’re tasked with creating a visual identity for my good old friend Tor’s startup Noko Jeans. They are three driven young men in their best years, welted together with a crazy idea of making jeans from North Korea. Interesting, to say the least.
More when it comes.

I have decided that it’s officially spring, and I’m not going to change my mind. Here’s a snapshot from my french balcony, staring out on the roof tops of Karlskrona.

“Every few a months, a white person will put on some Jazz and pour themselves a glass of wine or scotch and tell themselves how nice it is. Then they will get bored and watch television or write emails to other white people about how nice it was to listen to Jazz at home.” from Stuffwhitepeoplelike.com
